MME WATER WALK 2025

On May 16th, 6th graders at Minnetonka Middle School East (MME) held the 13th annual Water Walk, a fundraising event for the Haitian Water Crisis. This year students hoped to raise at least $25,000 to give students at Pignon Middle School a modern bathroom building. Last Friday we received the official numbers from the event, and we’re happy to announce that MME students surpassed their goal, raising over $31,000 dollars!

Due to poor weather conditions, Water Walk activities had to be held inside. But students refused to let this setback undermine their dedication and commitment to their fellow middle schoolers in Pignon. There were students who still participated in the charity walk for the event too, with one brave student running over 6 miles in the cold rain! The passion was remarkable!

These students were also especially creative with their stands this year. From tacos, to tarot cards, to puppies, to chickens, to games, to handmade jewelry, you could tell each student put an incredible amount of thought into how they wanted to make an impact.

Thank you MME, for proving that you are never too young to change the world around you.

And a massive THANK YOU to all the teachers, parents, school staff, and volunteers who helped make this event possible! They could not have done this without you!
