BWA KOCHON CELEBRATION

Last Friday, the community of Bwa Kochon gathered to celebrate something that had once seemed uncertain – clean, flowing water from their own community well. The journey to this moment wasn't straightforward. An initial well was drilled, but it was never completed correctly and failed to produce water. Rather than abandon the community's need, our team conducted extensive geological assessments to identify a new location where water could reliably be found. The persistence paid off.

Today, Bwa Kochon not only has access to safe water, but the community has also achieved a remarkable milestone: 100% sanitation coverage and open defecation free status. This dual achievement – water access and comprehensive sanitation – represents the foundation for healthier lives and a stronger community.

This is what sustainable development looks like: not walking away when initial attempts fall short, but investing the time and expertise needed to find real solutions. And it's a reminder that water and sanitation go hand in hand in building community health. Congratulations to the people of Bwa Kochon on this hard-won achievement. Your celebration was well-earned.
