We will be raising money for the community of Leon!

Leon was the very first community Haiti Outreach ever to be coached on pay-for service model in May of 2005. They have been operating the well pump sustainably and uninterrupted for almost 20 years! Amazing!

In 2005, no one was talking about water services in this fashion in Haiti and the way the community embraced this new idea from Haiti Outreach Staff and ran with it, is incredible. They have taken ownership of ensuring they have long-term clean water in such an inspiring way!

Only 13 homes keep it operating, paying into their transparent bank account each month to pay for repairs. Usually a community well services 25-100 homes. Community leaders even still deliver their water report to the Haiti Outreach office each month by motorcycle!

However, back in 2005 we didn't provide a well house to the community as part of the program like we do now to protect it from damage.

We would love to gift them a well house for their 20th year!
